报告摘要:

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar materials, being low-cost and high-performance, are promising for large-scale deployment of the photovoltaic technology and have attracted tremendous interests in the past several years. The highest certified power conversion efficiency (PCE) has exceeded 22%. The perovskite semiconductors, in particular, CH3NH3PbI3, represents the first material that achieved PCE above 20%, but is not derived from the silicon structure. In this talk, I will discuss the advantage of the perovskite materials from a point of view of intrinsic defects. The apparent disadvantage of CH3NH3PbI3is its toxicity and instability. In this aspect, I will discuss the possibility of chalcogenide perovskites and other lead-free perovskites, as potential photovoltaic materials, which we have theoretically proposed and partly validated by experiment recently.

报告人简介:

Yiyang Sun graduated fromJilinUniversityin 1996 with a bachelor degree in Materials Science and Engineering and fromXiamenUniversityin 1999 with a master degree in Semiconductor Physics and Devices. He received his PhD degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004. Since then, he has worked as postdoc at NUS, National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). In 2010, he was appointed Research Assistant Professor and later Research Scientist at RPI. His current research interest is on the first-principles computation with renewable energy applications. He has published 70 peer-reviewed papers with 1200 citations (H-index 19).
